We were aware of the Alan Cumming (practically) one man performance of Macbeth a few months ago but tickets were both expensive and impossible to get.
It has now just moved to a smaller Broadway theatre and they released slightly cheaper tickets so we went last Tuesday which was Heather's birthday.
I haven't been to many theatre performances in my life and this one was quite an interesting thing to see as Alan Cumming was on stage on his own for nearly the whole hour and 45 minutes.
Thankfully it is the one Shakespeare play we did at school and I could remember most of the storyline otherwise I don't think you'd be able to follow it as well especially considering they had concocted this different scenario in order for him to perform it as a one man show. It was set in a mental institution with Macbeth speaking to himself and imaginary characters, basically reenacting the story.
The only downside was I had been on the go since 5.35am so for the last 30mins and especially when it went dark, I was fighting to keep my eyes open!
Heather wanted to 'meet' him and get the playbooks signed so we joined twenty other people outside and waited for around 20mins.
And of course Heather got him to say Happy Birthday to her!
